Playing netball also invites lots of knee and ankle injuries, from which I have been suffering for some time. Using Summit Wellness on my ankles and knees has ensured joint preservation and gives me the confidence to continue to give it my all on and off-court.
My name is Ludo and I am a midfielder/striker for Floreat Athena Soccer club. I’ve been playing football since a very early age and at the age of 16, I started playing for the National Premier League (NPL) and have previously played for a short term with Perth Glory. When playing football, the strapping tape plays a major role in making sure I am well supported on the field and off the field. The tapes make me more aware of when I am pushing my body to perform at its best and help prevent any injuries when fatigued. Having been involved in soccer for such a long time, I am confident in highly recommending the Summit Wellness tape as it is suitable for all athletes, particularly for higher-performance players.
I am practicing rugby, it is an impact sport, injuries and detriment of the joins are a constant. Recently I’ve been suffering some problems in my tendon around my right elbow making doing some exercises quite uncomfortable, but the strapping on my elbow gave me the support to do exercises, minimizing the possible injuries and giving me the confidence to train hard again. Thank you very much, Summit Wellness

How to apply rigid tape to the ankle. Useful for sports that involve running, jumping and change in direction.
Simple steps to strapping an ankle:
1. Measure 4-fingers width above the ankle joint, then apply the first anchor tape.
2. Add 2 x stirrups ‘U’ shape, from ankle-to-ankle
3. Add 2 x 6’s each side of the ankle, loop from inside-out, then outside-in of the ankle. “Looks like a figure 6”
4. (optional) Add Heel-locks for maximum support. Start from top-front of the ankle, then wrap around, then behind the ankle. Then continue underneath the heel, then come back up to the front of the ankle to finish.
5. Finish off, by re-anchoring over STEP 1. This holds any loose ends in neatly.
6. Check for any tightness or cuts (check the capillary re-fill in the toes). Press down firmly on the tape to minimise creases in the tape. This helps to reduce movement through the tape.
7. Test the ankle. Move and walk on it, and see how it feels. The ankle should feel firm, and supported.

How to use kinesiology tape for the shoulder. Useful for overhead and shoulder elevation activities.
Simple steps to strapping the shoulder:
1. Prepare 3 x tapes (2x 15-20cm & 1 x 10cm).
2. Have the athlete seated with shoulders slightly pulled back.
3. Feel along the top of the shoulder blade and place 15-20cm tape horizontally, with a mild pull to the tape. Then anchor to the arm bone.
4. Apply the next 15-20cm tape from the base of the neck horizontally along the upper traps down towards the 1st anchor (i.e., in step 3).
5. Apply the 10cm tape ~1-2 finger width below the middle of the collar bone (where the upper chest muscle is found). Then apply a mild pull upwards towards the shoulder, crossing in front of the shoulder.
6. Then anchor to meet tape 1 & 2.
7. Ask the athlete to relax and move their arm. They should feel a light stretch along the skin, and the shoulder should feel supported.
